A dedicated voice for Cerro Gordo county.

Sharon is a mom, former public school teacher, and have been a dedicated representative for Mason City since 2008. Sharon was born in Chicago, Illinois. She earned a B.S. in education from Iowa State University and an M.S. in education from Morningside College. Her career experience includes working as an dedicated public educator. She has served as president and chief negotiator of the Mason City Education Association. She currently serves as a commissioner on the Midwestern Higher Education Compact, state board for iJAG, and her local regional RSVP board.

Sharon is known for her passion for public education, reproductive rights advocacy, and consistent constituent services. Sharon knows that there is nothing flashy about being a state representative: it is about being a voice for your community and working around the clock to be an advocate for all Iowans. Sharon knows the power of a quality public education, and has consistently fought back against GOP attacks on our teachers and schools. As the former chief negotiator for the Mason City Education Association, Sharon intimately knows the power of unions and what happens when hardworking people aren't supported as they should be. Sharon is a fierce advocate for reproductive freedom for all people, and will continue to fight for that freedom in Des Moines. For Sharon, no request is too small. She is in this role to be a voice for her constituents, and that work doesn't stop. There is a reason Sharon has been doing this work for 15 years; it's because she is a fighter. And she will continue to fight for all Iowans, with your help.
